Functions:
Clears heat and eliminates dampness, courses wind and resolves toxins; for wind damp heat herpes zoster lesions.

Method of Use:
Apply once every other day to the herpetic lesions and hold in place with an adhesive plaster.

Formula Rationale:
Fu Rong Hua (Flos Hibisci), Chi Xiao Dou (Semen Phaseoli Calcarati), Qing Dai (Pulvis Indigonis), and Ku Fan (Alumen) clear heat, eliminate dampness, and resolve toxins. Wu Gong (Scolopendra) quickens the blood and frees the flow of the network vessels, thus helping to prevent post-herpetic neuralgia. Fu Rong Hua (Flos Hibisci) also is empirically specific for combating the herpes virus.
